Natural stone benchtops in Brisbane.

Granite, marble and quartzite — quarried slabs with depth and character no manufactured surface can copy. Templated, fabricated and installed by our own team from our Oxley workshop, right across Brisbane and South East Queensland.

The stones

Granite, marble & quartzite

Granite is the hard-wearing all-rounder — dense, heat-tolerant and available in an enormous range of colours and movement. It shrugs off day-to-day kitchen life and suits busy families who still want a genuine natural slab.

Marble is the classic statement stone. Its soft, luminous veining is unmatched, but it is softer and more porous than granite, so it can etch and mark with acids over time. Many people love that evolving patina; if you want it to stay pristine, we will point you to a tougher option.

Quartzite — not to be confused with manufactured engineered quartz — is a natural stone that gives you marble-like looks with much greater hardness and scratch resistance. It has become one of the most popular choices for people who want the marble aesthetic in a more resilient slab.

The look

One-of-a-kind, by nature

No two natural slabs are the same. Because the veining and colour are formed over millennia, your benchtop is genuinely unique — which is exactly the appeal. For that reason we recommend viewing and selecting the actual slab before we cut, so you know precisely what is going into your kitchen.

Where a slab allows, we book-match adjoining pieces so the veining flows across a mitred waterfall island or up a full-height splashback — the kind of detail that turns a benchtop into the centrepiece of the room.

Living with it

Durability, sealing & maintenance

Natural stone is porous, so it is sealed on installation and needs periodic resealing to keep resisting stains — how often depends on the stone and how hard you use it. Day to day it is simple: wipe with mild soap and water, and clean up spills reasonably promptly, especially acidic ones like lemon, wine and vinegar on marble.

Granite and quartzite are very forgiving. Marble asks for a little more care in return for a look nothing else quite matches. Whichever you choose, we seal it before we hand it over and walk you through exactly how to look after it.

Made to measure

Edge profiles, thickness & fabrication

We fabricate natural stone in 20mm and 40mm, and a 20mm top can be mitred to read like a solid 40mm-plus slab where you want a chunkier look. Edge profiles include pencil round, aris, bullnose, half bullnose, lambs tongue, shark nose and mitred, with 40–100mm apron build-ups.

Everything is templated on site and cut in our Oxley workshop — undermount and top-mount sink cut-outs, drainer grooves, cooktop openings and book-matched splashbacks — then installed and sealed by the same team.

Natural stone FAQ

Common questions.

Is quartzite the same as engineered quartz?+

No. Quartzite is a natural stone quarried from the earth, prized for marble-like looks with excellent hardness. Engineered quartz is a manufactured product — and the traditional high-silica kind is now banned in Australia. If you want the durability people associate with quartz in a natural slab, quartzite is the one to look at.

Does natural stone stain or need sealing?+

Natural stone is porous, so we seal it on installation and it needs periodic resealing to keep resisting stains. Wipe up spills — especially acidic ones like lemon, wine and vinegar — reasonably promptly. We show you exactly how to care for your stone when we hand it over.

Is marble too soft for a kitchen benchtop?+

Marble is softer than granite and quartzite and can etch or mark with acids over time. Plenty of people love that lived-in patina; if you would rather it stay pristine, granite, quartzite or a silica-free engineered surface is a better match. We will talk you through the trade-offs honestly.

Can I see the actual slab before it is cut?+

Yes — with natural stone every slab is different, so we recommend viewing and selecting the actual slab. We can arrange this so you know exactly the veining and colour going into your kitchen, and we book-match slabs for waterfalls and splashbacks where possible.

Can natural stone go outdoors in Brisbane?+

Some natural stones handle outdoor use better than others; UV and weather resistance varies by stone. For an alfresco or poolside kitchen we usually steer you toward sintered stone or porcelain, which is UV-stable and unaffected by the Queensland sun and rain. Ask us and we will advise for your specific slab.
